The Cycle-to-Work scheme was launched by the Government in 2009 to encourage the use of bicycles to travel to and from work. The scheme allows for a civil or public service employer to incur the expense of providing an officer with a bicycle and bicycle safety equipment up to a limit of €1,000, without the officer being liable for benefit-in-kind taxation. The tax exemption can only be availed of once in any five year period. The scheme is managed by the Department of Finance. The NPS manages the supplier listing only. Officers wishing to use the scheme should contact their Personnel Officers.

The NPS has a dedicated technical advisory service with expertise in the field of high security printing. 

This is an area that is constantly evolving with new products, technologies, and applications constantly becoming available.

The Security Printing section will engage with public sector buyers to provide:

• An advisory service for their security print needs
• Consultation with potential suppliers and pre-tender research
• A full procurement service including the enhancement and updating of specifications and legally compliant tendering on behalf of public sector buyers.

Current services to the public sector include the procurement of motor tax discs; driving licences; high security cheques, certificates and licences; as well as plastic identity cards and other security products and applications.

The supply of automotive fuels, engine lubricating oils and car wash through means of a charge card mechanism (PS 142)

This contract is held by Office Depot Ltd. The NPS has an option to extend the contract for two further periods of six months each. Parties eligible to use the contract include Central Government Departments and Offices and non-commercial Public Bodies that have a formal reporting and legal relationship with Government Departments. The contract does not include ICT Consumables or Office Supplies and Stationer.  

Supply of Envelopes to Government Bodies, Departments, Offices and Agencies under their aegis.

• Lot 1: Can be used by Government Bodies, etc., stated above.
• Lot 2: Is restricted to Government Bodies as stated within the contract.

The Health Service Executive (HSE) have put in place a framework agreement for the provision of laboratory equipment, consumables and services (in six lots).

This framework is effective from 01/11/11 for 12 months with a maximum of 48 months.

Contract for the supply of Electricity to the Local Authorities, through the National Procurement Service.
