Savings in excess of €21 million have been achieved by the National Procurement Service (NPS) when purchasing electricity and natural gas for the public service in 2011.
The focus of energy procurement reform in 2011 centred around the need for the Irish Public Service to present itself to energy suppliers as a single customer with a need to achieve greater efficiencies when purchasing electricity and natural gas.
In researching the market for Managed Print Services (MPS) the NPS engaged fully with both supply and demand. On the supply side the NPS met with major MPS providers and gained an understanding of the capacity and levels of innovation within the Market. In terms of demand the NPS analysed the available data in relation to print expenditure and consulted extensively with key stakeholders.
